If you're not using our facility, here's how to store tires properly at home.
Clean Before Storing
Wash tires thoroughly to remove road salt, brake dust, and grime. These accelerate rubber decay.
Bag Them
Use proper tire bags — not garbage bags. Garbage bags trap moisture; tire bags are designed for the job.
Store Vertically (If On Rims)
Tires mounted on rims should be stacked vertically or hung. Stacking flat can cause flat spots.
Store Horizontally (If Off Rims)
Bare tires (no rims) should be stacked flat on a clean surface. Vertical storage can deform them.
Avoid UV, Heat, and Ozone
Keep away from sunlight, heaters, and electric motors (which produce ozone).
Cool, Dark, Dry
Basements and garages are usually fine. Avoid sheds that get hot in summer or damp in winter.
